The Kazakhstani IT market has made a record-breaking leap, reaching 2.9 trillion tenge in 2025. The primary growth drivers were data processing, software development, and a surge in domestic demand

Kazakhstan's IT sector is experiencing a boom. In 2025, the market volume reached 2.9 trillion tenge, expanding nearly fivefold compared to 2021.

Domestic demand remains the main engine, accounting for 86.7% of all services (2.5 trillion tenge) provided to Kazakhstani clients. Notably, demand from individual consumers skyrocketed by 6.3 times. At the same time, exports continue to rise foreign clients, generated 391.6 billion tenge for the market (+28.9% year-over-year).

The southern and northern capitals serve as the country's two primary tech hubs. Almaty (1.8 trillion tenge) and Astana (883.8 billion tenge) together hold 92.2% of the entire IT market. The regions are also catching up, with growth recorded in 16 out of 20 regions –though none have crossed the 50 billion tenge thresholds yet. The fastest growth rates were demonstrated by the Ulytau and Turkistan regions.

Where is the IT sector generating revenue? First and foremost, in data processing. This category surged more than tenfold (reaching 566.6 billion tenge), which experts call the strongest breakthrough of the year. The largest traditional segment remains software development and testing, totaling around 762.8 billion tenge. Additionally, the number of companies using Big Data analytics grew to approximately 4.2 thousand, with retail, IT/communications, and construction leading adoption.

Overall, national digitalization is running at full speed. Kazakhstani businesses and the public are actively adopting data solutions and software, making domestic IT services increasingly sought after both locally and internationally.
