On the first Sunday of August, railway workers celebrate their professional holiday

The event brought together industry veterans, railway workers, representatives of labor dynasties, and leaders in the transport sector.

More than 110,000 workers are employed in the railway transport sector. Thanks to their daily dedication, uninterrupted passenger and freight transportation, regional connectivity, and the stable functioning of the economy are ensured.

Over the past five years, the output of the railway industry has increased 3.4 times. Following the instructions of the Head of State, a large-scale modernization of railway infrastructure is underway. Construction projects for new railway lines are being implemented, mainline capacity is being expanded, 124 railway stations are undergoing modernization, and the locomotive fleet as well as rolling stock are being updated.

The country's transit potential is strengthening. From 2021 to 2026, railway transit volume grew to reach 33 million tons. Thus, Kazakhstan's position as a key transport and logistics hub in Eurasia is being reinforced.

The quality of passenger transportation is improving. Over recent years, more than 650 passenger carriages have been renewed. In 2026 alone, the delivery of 191 new carriages is planned. By 2030, up to 90% of current carriages are scheduled for replacement, significantly enhancing comfort, safety, and customer service standards. Working alongside major passenger transport players in this direction is Kaztechnology, powered by the Vputi.kz platform.

During the event, an award ceremony took place. 27 industry specialists were honored with departmental awards from the Ministry of Transport.
