The study and popularization of Kazakhstan's rich historical heritage are reaching a fundamentally new level today. The President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has repeatedly emphasized that preserving historical and cultural memory is our sacred duty to future generations. Our history is profound and majestic, and today the state is conducting systematic work to rethink the shared history of the peoples of Central Eurasia, as well as questions of identity and historical continuity.
As part of this large-scale effort, Kazakhstan is taking confident steps to reinvent the image of the Golden Horde, and specifically the Ulus of Jochi:
• The President stated the need to deeply study the civilizational, intellectual, and spiritual significance of the Golden Horde. To expand scientific research, a specialized Research Institute of the Ulus of Jochi was previously established;
• For the first time in the new academic history of Kazakhstan, a dedicated volume completely focused on the Golden Horde will appear;
• There are plans to publish books, produce films, and organize exhibitions aimed at elevating the phenomenon of the Ulus of Jochi to a global level and making it an integral part of modern national identity.
Inspired by this grand state policy and striving to contribute to the preservation of national memory, the Kaztechnology team has created a special digital project, "Historical Cities of the Great Steppe," within the Video Guide section of the Vputi.kz multimedia portal, utilizing the power of artificial intelligence.
We invite you to join this fascinating and educational journey through time and visit medieval Otyrar, Saraishyk, Syganak, Taraz, Turkestan, the Zhezkazgan settlement, and Ulytau.
This section has become a logical continuation of the President’s initiatives to popularize the great heritage of our ancestors. It carefully brings together unique materials that will allow anyone interested to touch the origins of our statehood, witness the grandeur of ancient Kazakhstan's culture, and realize the importance of historical experience for the development of modern society. Enjoy the journey!
